Spend a creative day exploring watercolour and create your own beautiful festive wreaths to enjoy throughout the winter season.
During this relaxed, hands-on workshop, you’ll be guided through the process of creating a large watercolour wreath using simple techniques and a selection of festive colours and natural forms. You’ll learn how to build up your wreath, combine washes and details, and create a balanced design that you can make your own.
Your main piece can be finished as a large artwork to display at home. With a little cutting and finishing, it could also be turned into a decorative wreath to hang with ribbon, creating a lovely handmade piece for your wall or door.
We’ll also explore smaller wreath designs that can be used to create your own handmade Christmas cards. These smaller pieces give you the opportunity to experiment with different arrangements and colours while creating something you can share with friends and family.
The day will include demonstrations, guided exercises and plenty of time to paint, experiment and develop your own designs. You don’t need to be an experienced watercolour artist to take part. The workshop is suitable for beginners as well as anyone who already enjoys watercolour and would like to create something festive.
All materials are provided, so you can simply turn up and enjoy a day of painting. You’re also welcome to bring your own watercolour paints, brushes or other supplies if you have favourites you would like to use.
You'll also have access to the Art Hub, a dedicated place where you can post images of your work, share anything you do after the workshop has finished, and receive feedback from both fellow students and myself.
