Course: Drawing and Painting

Create projects you’ll love and develop your art skills over 10 weeks — all with the support of a qualified tutor and a vibrant community of fellow artists. Perfect for all skill levels!
Who is the course for?
Ideal for beginners and seasoned artists alike! Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, you'll enjoy exploring various media through short projects with the guidance of a qualified and experienced tutor.
What will the course cover?
During the course, you'll have the chance to:
- Follow tutor-led projects designed to enhance your skills.
- Work on your own project ideas and explore different media choices.
- Learn simple techniques and get introductions to new media through demonstrations.
Theme:
Over the 10 week course we will explore: Animals
Some of this terms projects include:
- Drawing basic shapes
- Drawing eyes
- Fur, Feathers, Scales
- Peacock, Parrot, Kingfisher
- Owl in monochrome
Throughout the course, you will be introduced to a range of artists, art movements and creative influences linked to each project. Optional links and resources will be provided for those who would like to explore further, helping to deepen your understanding and spark new ideas.

What you will need:
You'll use your own art equipment and can adapt session to the materials you have.
For the first session, please have on hand:
- A sketching pad or cartridge paper
- A selection of graphite pencils
- An eraser and pencil sharpener
🎨Later in the course you may like to us coloured pencils, watercolours, gouache, acrylics or pastels.
You will be sent a course information sheet with a list of each weeks projects and the materials I will be using.
If you wish to purchase additional media, I can offer advice and support.
A project guide and further resources will be sent a week before your first lesson.
