A bit of a different one, but I love it. A little Starling I found in my garden. I spent ages taking photos and sketching it. Everything about it was so delicate and fragile. I just had to turn it into a print.
This print was made by creating a hardground etching on a metal plate, which is then dipped into Copper Sulphate solution for various lengths of time to create an open bite aquatint. The plate is then inked up and printed Intaglio style.
It is a very absorbing and time consuming process with lots of stages for the ‘magic’ to happen.
Printed on a lovely white paper.
You will receive one of an edition of 20
The print size is 15 x 10 cm
This print will be supplied (unmounted) ready for your own mount and frame.
Please contact me to discuss framing costs.
Each print is signed, editioned and titled in pencil on the front.
I try to limit my use of none recyclable materials so your purchase will be wrapped in paper for protection.
Common Starling
Every care is taken to photograph artwork, but minor colour variation may occur between the original and screen.
All prints will vary slightly due to their hand printed nature.
This print is made using lightfast inks and archival materials. I do suggest that to maintain this artwork to the highest quality, it should be displayed away from direct sunlight, fluorescent lighting and high humidity areas.
