Teasles ( lino print using reduction method)

This lino print of dried teasles was based on a photo taken at Standen National Trust.
In the vase area the lino was cut away after the grey inking but some ridges of lino remained which picked up the black ink.
A metal spoon and small plastic Esdee baren were used as burnishing tools. The paper used was quite heavy and this required a lot of pressure making the image a bit patchy/ mottled.
I got some Ho-Sho paper and a ball - bearing baren from Handprinted for x-mas and will try this out next….

Lovely work. I can't wait to see how your barren works for you. The ho-sho paper should make a real difference.
