Byzantine Icon Painting
For this project I used Gouache on mixed media paper. The paper was actually a little thin, which resulted in some cockling as I was working. The gold was from some Himi paints that I wanted to try out. I think this gold could really do with another layer as it didn't apply well when I added a little water to lubricate the paint to flow easier.

You could try adding some shading to the hair and face if you want to create more depth. It's a lovely depiction of the face.
