Learn how to create vibrant, expressive paintings with acrylics in this inspiring four week introduction course.
 
Acrylic paint is wonderfully versatile. It can be bold and textural or soft and subtle, and it dries quickly so you can build layers without long waiting times. It is an ideal medium for beginners and equally exciting for those returning to painting after a break.
 
During the course you’ll explore colour mixing, brush techniques and simple composition. You’ll learn how to create different effects, from smooth blends to lively, textured marks, and how to build a painting in clear stages. Working from still life, flowers and simple landscape references, you’ll develop several small finished pieces as your confidence grows.
 
This course suits absolute beginners as well as those wishing to refresh their artistic skills. Each week includes clear demonstrations, practical exercises and supportive guidance to help you feel at ease with the materials and enjoy the process of painting.
 
All materials are provided, including acrylic paints, brushes and surfaces to work on. You’re also very welcome to bring your own paints or favourite brushes if you already have some at home.
 
You’ll also have access to the Art Hub, a dedicated place where you can post images of your work, share your progress and receive feedback from both fellow students and myself.
