This six-week Drawing and Painting course is designed for students who have already had an introduction to watercolour, pastels, acrylics or other media and would like to build confidence, refine technique and develop their own artistic voice.
Working in your chosen medium, you’ll strengthen core skills that underpin all good artwork. Together we will explore tonal sketching, limited palette colour mixing, composition and personal project development in a supportive, mixed-media studio environment.
Over six weeks we will cover:
• Tonal sketching and understanding light and shadow
• Colour mixing using a limited palette
• Developing expressive and controlled mark making
• Exploring composition through structured exercises
• Creating a personal piece with guided support
• Optional sketching in the garden (weather permitting)
This course is ideal for those who enjoy learning alongside others while progressing at their own pace. Students bring their own materials, and individual guidance is given throughout to suit different media and skill levels.
Whether you prefer the fluidity of watercolour, the richness of acrylic, the immediacy of pastel, or the subtlety of coloured pencils this course will help you deepen your understanding and grow in confidence.
You'll also have access to the Art Hub, a dedicated place where you can post images of your work, share your progress, and receive feedback from both fellow students and myself.
