Spend a creative day immersed in art and nature while creating your own beautiful concertina sketchbook in the enchanting ‘secret’ garden at Townsend House.
 
A concertina sketchbook offers a unique and exciting way to record a place, tell a visual story and experiment with different artistic approaches. Throughout the day you'll explore a variety of mixed media techniques, using drawing, painting, collage, mark-making and written observations to create a sketchbook that unfolds into a personal creative journey.
 
The garden itself will provide endless inspiration, with its plants, textures, colours and quiet corners encouraging close observation and creative exploration. You'll learn how to gather ideas, respond to your surroundings and develop pages that connect together to form a cohesive piece of artwork.
 
This workshop is designed to encourage curiosity and experimentation. There is no right or wrong way to approach your sketchbook, and you'll be supported in finding techniques and ideas that suit your own interests and style.
 
Whether you are an experienced sketchbook enthusiast or completely new to mixed media work, you'll leave with a concertina sketchbook, plenty of new techniques and inspiration to continue your creative practice long after the workshop has ended.

Included: You will be provided with a small concertina sketchbook to fill with inspiration during the day.
Please bring: Your favourite art materials. Additional materials will be available to use on the day.
