Landscape Monoprint
Inspired by Trisha's demonstration on YouTube which I saw week or so back I've got hold of one of those small X-Cut presses and some materials and created these monoprints. Thanks too for Tricia for encouragement along the way

Many thanks to you all for your kind and encouraging comments. It’s not a very big print, 6 x 4 inches. Helen
I'm sharing my aquatint etching all framed and ready to be taken to the RWA in Bristol this coming weekend.
This is an intaglio print. Which means that the watching plate (an aluminium metal plate) is incised by dipping it in an "acid" bath. (The acid is actually a copper sulphate solution)
When the plate is ready the ink is then pushed into the lines and the whole plate is polished clean. Then damp paper is used to pull the print. Each new print requires reinking. So this is a limited edition of 20 prints.
This is print one of twenty (1/20)
So excited to have my work selected for this amazing exhibition for
This is really lovely, you must be so pleased to have it selected for Bristol. Well done !
These pieces show lovely energetic mark making. There is also a nice sense of depth to each landscape.
I guess they aren't bigger than A4 if you are using an X-cut machine.
