Thank you for the feedback Tricia. I first placed the inks on the canvas and moved these around with the credit card .Did not have that much control over this. When dry dragged down the acrylics with the card which had a serrated edge. Used warm and cool primary colours. Will try this technique with a more limited acrylic palette.

Thanks for sharing your technique. Perhaps you could use ink to add details on top of your acrylics. (You need to use acrylic ink for this.) You may be interested to look at a workshop I ran a few years ago. Students were given some images of Italian townscapes. They then found simple shapes and designs, built up texture backgrounds with collage and texture mediums. Then added mixed media elements over the top.
