Thanks to Tricia, George and Chris for your comments. I didn’t use Mastercut. I traced the design from my small piece of paper shown in the photo, repeating it all over the paper. Then inked it in, painted with gouache and re-inked and thought there has to be an easier way!! I probably should have linked the motifs with some extra details that might have been quite effective. Yes I can definitely remember wallpaper like this and with similar colours. Did you just paint the gouache onto the block?/Mastercut? And do the different colours in one go?
I'm sure we used to have some wallpaper like this in the late 80's.... all that style is coming back into fashion now!.... I'm not sure if this will quite make it though. ;-)
But it's really nice to see a large sheet of the pattern. Perhaps you could have made this a little more complicated by filling in more of the gaps or interweaving some of the stems?

I also remember this type of wallpaper. The design is really nice but for me the dark maroon flower is too intense. Nicely done Helen.
