I did this as I’ve been looking at paintings from an American artist, George Innes. I used just 2 colours red and green, also linseed oil. Then most of the effects were done with kitchen towel, q-tips, cocktail stick and old bank card. Oil on canvas board.
Very atmospheric and a great sense of depth
So effective using just two colours and my eyes are really drawn into the picture. Brilliant!
Did not know about George Innes. Great painting, very atmospheric. Love the nearly monochrome tonal variation achieved by using green and red and the methods used. The weave of the canvas adds beautifully to the texture of the painting.
