This was painted from a photo I took last year in Seville using water based oils. I tried to depict some movement of the dancers but found painting on a relatively small canvas board (25x30 cm) quite difficult. I liked the feel of the water based oil paints.

These were two women dancing in the street. I agree the figure on the right is rather robotic and too static. Work in progress. Thanks for commenting.
Hi George I too have been trying to get movement into my paintings.
Creating movement is a tricky thing. There are a couple of ways to go about it: Choose a pose where your model is in a balance pose moving from one pose to another. Your viewer will see that 'balance' and feel the movement. Or Create movement in your use of marks. Create marks that are hard and soft, or make drags through the paint. You can also create marks that have contrast between light and dark. Pressure and release.
