I used acrylic inks , watercolour pencils and coloured pens for this painting which was based on a photograph taken at Nymans National Trust gardens.
I think using acrylic paints or oil paints would have made it easier to achieve smoother tonal variations, a bit more like a Georgia o’ Keefe flower.

George this is fantastic. It works so well zooming in and making it 'explode' off the edges. Great work. I like that it isn't flat colours.

Lovely flower! The green complements the other colours so well. I specially like the curving left-hand petal.
