Drypoint etching with monoprint

I have been working on this image (along with a couple more) trying to find something that works well, and that I can make a small edition of, to submit for the RA summer exhibition... still haven't got it quite right yet. But here are some of my trials.

Oh yes too complicated!.... it's actually a perspex sheet that is scratched into. That gives you the dark lines. Then the clouds are the mono print, where ink is left on the surface of the plate to be picked up as everything is printed.
