In response to your question Tricia about motivation:
I find it SO difficult to get motivated . I've put a prompt on my phone to remind me daily to set aside 10 minutes - especially as I find sitting for long periods really difficult. I also think it's a state of mind too, I've been very depressed with a lot of issues happening some of them very long term. I used to think that peace and quiet was the way to go to getting my art done but very recently I have found listening (ON MY HEADPHONES) to music I like has given me a way to shut out my surroundings and the other noise has allowed me to focus on what I'm doing without distractions - so that's part of my solution. I also find doing some research on the pictures and things that inspire me and keeping a record of them helps I.e. Pinterest, etc., in order that you're not wondering about what to draw or paint. Hope this helps. I know it's not easy and am finding it especially hard at the moment as still not feeling 100%.
Great ideas. I know for me it's a time issue and when I do get free time I tend to just sit and watch TV. Am I being lazy, procrastinating or just taking time to wind down?
I know taking time for yourself is really important, but is your art the thing that is special time for you?
Not sure, but you seem to have some ideas in place.
