This is fantastic. The black lines of each pane work really well. I have a couple of tweaks. The joggers legs could do with looking at as he looks like they are on backwards. The building on the left just above the traffic light and up to the window. This could do with being a little crisper. It blends slightly into the glass reflection so could do with sharpening and making it sit outside of the glass to the right. But I have to say, these are just niggles, the reflection works so well and the change of angles in the composition creates so many interesting layers.!Great work.
Thank you Helen. Alkyd oils dry faster than traditional oil paints but not as fast as acrylics so are good for paintings that take longer to complete. Instead of using turps as a dilutant I use Zest-it, a safe, non-toxic alternative with a nice smell. Zest-it can also be used for cleaning the brushes. I purchase my alkyds from the Range store and Zest-it from Jackson’s Art and do not use anything else.
Have a nice x-mas and best wishes for the new year Helen.
I like the composition George, it makes me want to look more closely and work it out! You‘ve been very successful with a difficult subject. Are Alkyd oils different from ordinary oil paints? Helen
Thank you Thea. This painting was from a photograph I took in London. I like the architecture of many of the new buildings in the capital but it is all becoming a little too constipated.
Many thanks for your feedback Tricia.
