Lovely work. I like how you've left the white areas to add a third tone to the petals and stem.
I'm not sure how keen I am with cutting into the border? I like to reverse my tones over the edge. (Leave the border straight and the carve on top of it. So you carve a white edge to the petals on the dark border and then a dark edge to the petals on the light background). I think it's maybe a personal preference thing though.
Thanks for your comments Tricia. Interesting idea for the border. I found it quite difficult to work out what I wanted as dark shade and mid shade within the flower, I think reversing it at the border might have been a step too far! However I could experiment with a simpler design.
Love this Helen so effective. Well done.
