A powerful image with a narrative . Beautifully painted with the marks and scars visible on the arms and the reflective pose of the young soldier. It also makes us, the viewer, reflect on what is happening in our lives.

I remembered this piece. It is quite moving and the high contrast between light and dark only adds to the effect.
