Pastel on dark pastel paper
This is copied loosely from a painting.
I could have tidied it up more but didn't..
I haven't put fixative on as it would dull the white.
Next is possibly a watercolour of the same scene!

Thanks Tricia - I've been working in acrylic on the same subject but not pleased with it yet! Maybe watercolour will suit it better.
Lovely pastel painting. I like the blue/ green colour of the sky and trees. You could make the woman a red accent and then the eye of the observer would not travel straight to the sky. Very nicely done.
Chris, this feels just like winter. Great colours and the blue/green in the trees works really well.
The pastel around the temple roof draws attention away from the people and village. It can be tricky to cut into small areas without laying down too much pastel.
You have created lots of interesting detail in the first building without over working.
I can't wait to see the watercolour!
