About the course:

Spend a relaxing day learning watercolour techniques, step by step from the beginning.

Understanding the equipment needed for watercolour painting, work through core skills like; paint consistency, wet on wet washes and glazing.

You will be able to work on a series of simple paintings that build on these core skills.

Who is the course for:

This course is suitable for beginners or those wishing to refresh their skills with the basic techniques.

What will the course cover:

During day you will learn about the different equipment needed for watercolour painting.

You will learn painting techniques like; glazing, wet on wet and lifting out.

There will be several opportunities to put those techniques into practise and you will return home with a lovely layered landscape painting.

For this course you will need:

All beginners equipment will be supplied.

But if you would like to bring some of your own things:

  • Watercolour paper 280-300gsm

  • Watercolour paints

  • Watercolour brushes (soft brushes)

  • Water pots

  • Palette

  • Pencil and rubber

If you have any other equipment you would like to use or to ask me about then please bring that along with you.

Don't forget to bring lunch, although there is a small Co-op near by.

Hot drinks will be available either from a 'charity' café run by the church or 'make-your-own' facilities.

Free parking is available in local streets.

2 minutes walk from West Worthing train station.

* Please be aware that social distancing and COVID secure venue rules may be in place. This could include wearing a facemask during sessions. There may also be designated group toilets. Prior to the start of the course you will be sent any details from the venues risk assessment that we need, as a group, to comply with.
