I think adding dark foliage in the foreground is a good idea and would lift the picture. I like the technique you have used.

It does need some contrast in tone. You could give it a try.

thanks Tricia. I put some wax in the sky. I am wondering if i should put some dark foliage right in the foreground to give some depth. I can't quite decide!

Ooow. Very effective. The sky is great, does it have some granulation medium I it? The foreground has filled in a little too much. Try for some dry areas where the paint won't spread to give contrast. Great job.
